Knockout / Guide
Your first round trip.
You will need an authorized supplier test endpoint and credentials. Knockout supports Chrome 119 or newer.
The Chrome Web Store release is in preparation. The installation link will appear here when the listing is available. These instructions are for users who already have Knockout installed.
1. Create a setup
Open Knockout from Chrome's toolbar and choose New entry. Give it a name, select OCI, cXML or PEPPOL, then add or select an endpoint. Use the final HTTPS setup URL supplied by your integration partner.
- OCI: enter username, password source and optional REQID.
- cXML: fill in the template fields, including the supplier's To credential identity. Adapt the XML template to your supplier's requirements. Keep password placeholders instead of literal secrets.
- PEPPOL: enter username, password source and optional buyer ID. Knockout supplies the punchout return specification.
Choose Save to reuse the entry. Execute also works with unsaved changes.
2. Approve the sites and shop
Execute requests permission for your setup host and the localhost callback. Your supplier opens in another tab. If it redirects to a different storefront, use Knockout's site-access prompt or open that session in Knockout and choose Allow storefront before checking out.
3. Return and inspect the cart
Complete the supplier's return-cart action. Open a session in history to see its fields and XML. Download JSON or original XML as needed. Delete individual sessions or clear the history when the test data is no longer needed.
Optional: connect 1Password
The bundled helper supports macOS Apple Silicon. It requires the 1Password desktop app, but no Python, Go or 1Password CLI installation.
- Sign in to 1Password. Under Settings → Developer → Integrate with the 1Password SDKs, enable Integrate with other apps.
- In Knockout, select the 1Password password source and open Set up the 1Password helper.
- Download the notarized DMG from that page. Open it in Finder, then open the folder containing the helper.
- Open Terminal in that folder using Finder's Services → New Terminal at Folder.
- Copy the install command from Knockout's setup page. It includes the correct extension ID. Replace the account placeholder with your 1Password account name and run the command. Keep quotes around names with spaces. No sudo is needed.
- Reload Knockout, paste a password field's secret reference, then Execute and approve access in 1Password when prompted.
You can then eject and delete the DMG. If you change extension installations, such as moving to the Web Store version, repeat setup with that installation's command.
Troubleshooting
The supplier redirects before the cXML response
Configure the final API setup URL directly. Knockout does not follow HTTP redirects for the cXML setup POST. A normal cXML StartPage URL returned in a successful response is supported.
The cart does not appear in history
Check that you started an active Knockout session and approved the storefront's site access. Then retry the supplier's return-cart action. After updating the extension, reload Knockout and start a new supplier session.
1Password cannot supply the password
Unlock the desktop app, verify SDK integration is enabled, and check the secret reference. Run the setup command again if the account or extension ID has changed.
Remove the helper
Removing the extension does not remove the optional helper. To uninstall the helper, remove these files from your user Library:
~/Library/Application Support/Knockout/onepassword/
~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/com.knockout.onepassword.jsonSupport
Email chrome-dev@mju.se. Include the protocol, browser version and error message, with passwords and private information removed.
